SKCON belongs to the Gaudiya-Vaishnava sampradāya, a monotheistic tradition within the Vedic or Hindu culture. Philosophically it is based on the Sanskrit texts Bhagavad-gītā and the Bhagavat Purana, or Srimad Bhagavatam. These are the historical texts of the devotional bhakti yoga tradition, which teaches that the ultimate goal for all living beings is to reawaken their love for God, or Lord Krishna, the “all-attractive one.”

Members of ISKCON practice bhakti-yoga in their homes and also worship in temples. They also promote bhakti-yoga, or Krishna Consciousness, through festivals, the performing arts, yoga seminars, public chanting, and the distribution of the society’s literature. ISKCON members have also opened hospitals, schools, colleges, eco-villages, free food distribution projects, and other institutions as a practical application of the path of devotional yoga, and we support its development.

Homness in Vrindavan reflects a complex social issue, particularly exacerbated by the city’s significance as a major pilgrimage destination in India. Many individuals, including those from marginalized communities, find themselves without stable housing due to economic hardship, family displacement, or other socio-economic factors. The city’s influx of tourists and pilgrims has led to increased living costs, making it challenging for the homeless population to secure basic necessities.
Homness in Bangkok is a significant issue, with thousands of individuals living on the streets or in temporary shelters. Various factors contribute to this phenomenon, including economic disparity, migration, job loss, and mental health challenges. Many homeless individuals in Bangkok are migrants from rural areas seeking better opportunities, while others may face family issues or personal crises.
