Italy’s wine trade, together with the rest of the country, is fighting hard to adapt and survive beneath the increasing health and economic strain in this crucial situation. This scenario is changing from hour to hour. Italian winemakers firmly say that it is impossible for the virus to survive in wine or packaging. Italy was the first European country to be gripped by coronavirus even though it had been hit with the initial stages of ‘lockdown’. Also, it had to handle defending its food industry from defamatory remarks and requests for virus-free food and wine, as some producers in the market have been requested to issue ‘corona virus-free’ documentation for the export of its produce.
Regarding the COVID-19 emergency. Numerous requests from Assoenologists arrive of members and other professionals categories, about different themes, including the contamination of the wine, the corruption of packaging, the wine limits already sulfation of the virus.
